1. What is Drive In /Drive Through pallet racking?
Drive in/ Drive Thru shelving is a racking system used to store homogeneous goods, using a pallet size, helping to optimize space and space for the warehouse. The rows of shelves are placed adjacent to each other, eliminating the aisle for forklifts, helping to increase the storage space many times.
Drive in pallet racking can withstand large weights, designed to ensure product and user safety. Drive in pallet racking with a slotted or groove throughout, allow pallets to be placed vertically together in the groove. When importing and exporting goods, forklifts can be easily moved inside the shelf to pick up goods.
2. Classify:
This shelving system is classified into two types according to the principle of import and export as follows:
- Drive–In Pallet Racking: Designed to import and export goods from only one side, whichever goods are put in later, they will be taken out first (FILO). This form of import and export is effective for goods with long-term use, homogeneous in products such as building materials, plastics, machinery goods, equipment tools and furniture wood industry.
- Drive–Through Pallet Racking: With this type of shelf, goods will be imported from one side and exported from another side, meaning that whichever goods are put in first, they will be exported first, and goods can be imported and exported at any end. The benefits of FIFO are for products with expiry dates such as pharmaceuticals and food.
3. Advantages of Drive In/Drive Through Pallet Racking:
